AirportTransferSingapore.com Changi Airport transfer is a private car booked in advance to meet a specific flight at a specific terminal and drive you straight to your address. Airport Transfer Singapore covers Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4, Jewel and the Changi Exhibition Centre, with the driver waiting inside the arrival hall rather than at a kerbside bay.
Changi moves tens of millions of passengers a year through four terminals that behave very differently at arrivals, which is why the meet point matters more here than the fare does. Pick your terminal and the fare, the meet point and the drive time come back together.

What is a Changi Airport transfer?
A Changi Airport transfer is a pre-booked private hire car assigned to one flight and one destination, at a fare fixed before travel. It is not a shared shuttle sold per seat, and it is not a car found in an app after you clear customs. The booking exists before you land, which is what allows the driver to be inside the terminal when you walk out.
Arriving travellers describe it in several ways depending on where they have flown from. Changi airport pickup and Changi airport drop off are the most common searches from within Asia; British and Australian passengers tend to say airport transfer; Gulf and Chinese travellers more often ask for a Changi airport chauffeur or a limousine transfer and expect an executive MPV. Changi’s own premium arrival services, such as the private terminal handling at JetQuay, are a separate product that sits alongside the transfer rather than replacing it.
Compared with the taxi rank, a pre-booked transfer trades a metered fare for a known one and trades a queue for a name board. Compared with Grab, it trades app convenience for a driver who is already at the terminal when the aircraft lands, on a fare that does not respond to how many people landed with you. That difference is smallest at 11:00 on a Tuesday and largest during the late-evening arrival bank, when three or four wide-bodies land inside an hour and the pickup bays back up.

In every case the driver sends a message with a vehicle description and a photo of where they are standing once the aircraft lands, and waits inside the free window. If you cannot find them, call the number on the confirmation rather than leaving the terminal.
How much does a Changi Airport transfer cost?
A Changi transfer is S$90 for a Premium MPV to the city centre, quoted flat for the whole car. The airport entry fee, ERP gantries, the expressway route, parking, fuel and GST are all inside that figure, and it does not move if your flight lands three hours late.

Waiting time, midnight and holiday charges at Changi
Waiting is free for 60 minutes from touchdown, measured from the aircraft’s landed time rather than the scheduled arrival. That window is set to cover immigration and baggage on a full flight, including the Terminal 3 evening bank. After it, additional waiting starts from S$20 per 15 minutes and may vary depending on the vehicle type. After three blocks it converts to the vehicle’s hourly rate.
Departures from a Singapore address carry a 15-minute grace period from the booked time. Pickups between 23:00 and 06:59 carry a late-night loading of S$20 per transfer, and S$30 on the 40-seater coach. Trips out to Tuas or Kranji carry S$30. A terminal change after booking costs nothing.
Add-ons at Changi: extra stops, child seats and the VIP terminal
Extra stop: S$20, one stop only, on the way, with 15 minutes of waiting included. A second stop means an hourly booking instead.
Child seats: S$20 per seat per trip. A capsule for under 9 months, which fits the Business Van only; an Urban Kanga from 9 months to 3 years; or a Mifold from 3 to 5 years. Book with the child’s age.
Porter service: baggage assistance from the carousel to the vehicle, arranged with the terminal on request.
VIP private terminal: Changi’s JetQuay handling, at S$600 per passenger, with S$120 added for Terminal 4 and a 25 per cent surcharge between 23:00 and 07:00. It covers a greeting at the aircraft, a private immigration counter, priority customs, lounge access and a handover straight to your driver. It is arranged alongside the transfer, not instead of it.
In-car as standard: meet-and-greet, bottled water and wifi on every vehicle.
Changi Airport transfer times and fares by destination
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive time | Fare from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orchard Road | 20 km | 20–30 min | S$90 |
| Marina Bay and Raffles Place | 20 km | 20–30 min | S$90 |
| Clarke Quay | 21 km | 22–35 min | S$90 |
| Holland Village | 26 km | 28–40 min | S$90 |
| Bukit Timah | 28 km | 30–45 min | S$90 |
| Sentosa Island | 27 km | 30–45 min | S$90 |
| Marina Bay Cruise Centre | 24 km | 25–35 min | S$90 |

| Jurong East | 35 km | 35–50 min | S$90 |
| Woodlands Checkpoint | 32 km | 35–50 min | S$90 |
Distances are measured from Terminal 3 along the route a driver would actually take: the East Coast Parkway for city and southern destinations, the Pan Island Expressway or the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway for the west and north. The top of each time range represents the weekday peak, 07:30 to 09:30 inbound and 17:30 to 19:30 outbound. Each destination has its own page with the meet point, route and local drop-off detail.
Which vehicle fits your flight?
On an airport page the constraint is always the boot, not the seats.
| Vehicle | Seats | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium MPV | 5 seats | 3 passengers + 3 large cases | One or two travellers on a normal trip |
| Executive MPV | 6 seats | 4 passengers + 4 large cases | Client arrivals, families, calls between the airport and office |
| Business Van | 7 seats | 6 passengers + 6 large cases | Long-haul families, cruise legs, golf trips |
| Minibus | 13 seats | 8 passengers + 8 large cases | Delegations, crew, airshow and conference movements |
| 40-seater coach | 40 seats | 40 passengers + 35 large cases | Whole-flight groups and staged conference arrivals |
Long-haul arrivals bring more bags than the same group would carry within Asia. A family of four returning from Europe usually needs a Business Van; the same four on a Bangkok weekend fit an Executive MPV. If you are unsure, give the bag count at booking and the vehicle is chosen for you.
Who books Changi transfers
Different passengers fail in different places at Changi, and the booking is really a fix for that failure.
Long-haul arrivals landing after midnight
The late bank into T1 and T3 lands when ride-hailing supply is at its thinnest and the taxi queue is at its longest. A pre-booked car is already parked when the aircraft touches down, and the fare was agreed the week before, when nobody was bidding against you.
Executive assistants meeting inbound directors
The executive assistant needs proof the car exists before the director lands. Driver name and mobile number go out the evening before, the flight is tracked without anyone asking, and the trip appears on a monthly invoice with a cost-centre reference instead of on someone’s personal card.
Families with children and a full luggage load
Four cases, a pram and two tired children do not fit into an Executive MPV or into a 25-minute wait at the pickup bay. Child seats are fitted before the vehicle leaves the depot, and the vehicle is sized against the declared bag count rather than the headcount.
Cruise passengers connecting from a flight
An arrival that has to reach Marina Bay Cruise Centre before boarding closes has a real deadline. The pickup is planned backwards from the terminal cut-off, and a delayed inbound flight triggers a call rather than a silent wait.
Airshow and conference delegations
Changi Exhibition Centre during the Singapore Airshow, and the Expo during Fintech Festival week, both concentrate thousands of arrivals into a few days. Vehicles are blocked out against the dates well before the manifest is final.
Private transfer, taxi, Grab or MRT from Changi?
| Comparison | Private transfer | Taxi rank | Grab, Gojek or TADA | MRT |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fare certainty | Fixed at booking | Metered plus airport surcharge | Quoted on request, moves with demand | Fixed and cheap |
| Wait after landing | None, driver waiting | Rank queue, up to 30 min at peak | 5–25 min, longer late at night | Walk to the station |
| Meet point | Inside arrivals, name board | Taxi rank, Level 1 | Kerbside bay, varies by terminal | Station at T2 and T3 |
| Luggage | Sized at booking; vans and minibuses available | Saloon boot unless a maxicab is next | Whatever accepts the job | Two cases is the practical limit |
| Flight delay | Tracked, pickup moves | Not applicable | Rebook on arrival | Not applicable |
| After 23:30 | Normal service, late loading | Late-night surcharge | Supply thins | Last train leaves Changi before midnight |
| Corporate billing | Monthly invoice, cost centres | Paper receipt | Business profile receipts | No |
| Change of terminal | Free | Not applicable | Rebook | Free |
ComfortDelGro and SMRT run most of the taxi rank; Grab, Gojek and TADA are the ride-hailing options; the MRT connection is the East West Line via a change at Tanah Merah.
When the MRT is the better answer
If you land in daylight with one cabin bag and your hotel is a short walk from an East West Line station, the train wins outright on cost and is barely slower door to door. Nothing about a private car changes that. The transfer earns its fare when there is luggage, a group, a child, a late arrival, or a meeting that starts before you have unpacked.

Booking windows for Changi
- 24 hours for a standard arrival or departure in a Premium MPV.
- 48 hours for a Business Van, a Minibus or a coach, or any booking that needs child seats.
- 72 hours for arrivals on cruise sailing mornings, when the terminals compete with the airport for the same fleet.
- One week or more for Grand Prix weekend in September, the Singapore Airshow in February, Fintech Festival week in November, and the days either side of Chinese New Year.
- Same day is often possible for a Premium MPV. Call rather than using the form.
Send the flight number, destination, and passenger and bag count. A fixed fare comes back, usually within the hour in business hours. Driver name and mobile number go out the evening before.
Mistakes people make booking Changi transfers
- Booking against the scheduled arrival time instead of the flight number. Without the flight number the driver is working to a clock, and a two-hour delay becomes a waiting charge.
- Wandering into Jewel after clearing customs. The driver is at the arrival exit, and Jewel is a different building.
- Sizing the car by seats. Four passengers with four checked bags need an Executive MPV at least, and finding that out at the kerb costs time and money.
- Timing a departure from the flight time. Check-in closes an hour before, and Changi’s approach roads are busiest during the evening departure bank.
- Accepting a car offered to you inside the terminal. Unlicensed touting exists at every large airport and you have no insurance cover as a passenger.
- Assuming a T3 booking covers a T4 arrival. The terminals are a drive apart, not a walk.
- Booking three separate transfers for one working day. From three stops onward, an hourly booking is cheaper and keeps the same driver.
- Leaving a child seat request to the arrivals hall. It has to be fitted before the car leaves.
Licensing and insurance
Every vehicle is licensed by the Land Transport Authority as a private hire car and displays the LTA decal. Every driver holds a Private Hire Car Driver’s Vocational Licence, the PDVL, which requires a medical, a background check and a licensing course before it is issued. Commercial passenger insurance is carried, and vehicles are inspected annually as commercial use requires.
Airport Transfer Singapore runs on the MySingaporeDriver fleet and dispatch, across five vehicle classes from a Premium MPV to a 40-seater coach. Every booking includes meet-and-greet, bottled water and wifi.
